Mel: “It was my first time running here, and I was nervous. It’s hard to know what this course is going to feel like on race day. This was Collier’s sixth time running at Mt. SAC, so she knew what to expect. Just like every race, the gun went off and I tucked in right behind her. I was following and learning.”

There is always going to be a teammate or coach with more experience and knowledge, and they are there to be leaned on and learned from. But also be confident in the things you do, learn from them, and take those experiences with you, because one day you’ll be the older one sharing your experiences.”
