“The Silicon Valley Business Plunge (our third in the past eight years!) has concluded, with 21 mostly EGL and STEM students visiting HP, Tesla, Texas Instruments, Netflix, Google, Microsoft and Santa Clara University (a major tech recruitment school). We heard from executives, software developers, hardware developers, data scientists, products managers and salespeople. Additionally, over dinner, we heard from special guest speaker Paul Voge, CEO and co-founder of the Aura Bora beverage brand, based in San Francisco. The major themes for the week included AI as the next frontier in tech and the critical role of big data to drive growth. The importance of networking and constant learning while on the job were also offered as advice for career success.
