Happy women’s history month ✊🏾💜 Jewel Prestage is a Trailblazer. 1954 she became the first African American woman with a Ph.D. in Political Science in the United States👩🏾‍💼. Not only did she teach political science at PVAMU, she helped shaped policy in education, appointed by President Carter. Which made her the National Advisory Council on Women’s Educational Programs, eventually becoming its chair.
