Today, we launch a new series at #PVAMU called First-Gen Forward. First-Gen Forward focuses on Pioneers, first-generation college students who turn to Prairie View A&M University to further their education. They are the first in their families to take this path. We begin with Mattie Jordan '22. After 35 years, the 54-year-old mother of two, grandmother of three and the last of nine children, and "the little girl from Hempstead, Texas," made it.
