Can confirm this is exactly how my day in hospital went 🦅 - Thank you for cheering me up with this rob_everyonelovescartoons 💜 - Met my surgeon today, he’s great and I feel really comfortable with him. I’m booked to go under the knife this Wednesday. No point waiting around. - The operation is only 40 minutes long, general anaesthetic, open up the back of my leg, suture the tendon back together, stitch the skin back over & cast it. I’ll be home by 7pm. - Obviously this is not ideal. - I can put a mindful, equanimous face on it but the bottom line is - it’s not the way I planned 2020 to end - It really fucking hurts that it’s happened. - All the plans I had feel like they’re on hold, all the physical pursuits I had just earned the right to start doing again after 2 years of spinal rehab are now even further out of reach. - I’ll be working for most of the next year to get my body back to where it was last Friday. - But wishing for it to change isn’t going to achieve anything.
