As of right now, there is no standardize way to determine if a young dancer is ready for pointe. The decision is arbitrary and based on age, years of experience, and teacher recommendation. .

Currently our
#dancemedicine team has a more objective measure to determine pointe readiness but is working to make the process even better. The article has 5 tests it utilized to help make the decision process more measurable.
