Welcome to the hip recovery series for dancers. Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting videos to aid in recovery. ➡️ First part of the series will be quad rocking in neutral, external rotation bias, and internal rotation bias. Physical Therapist Lisa Clarkson of our #dance medicine team demonstrates this hip recovery drill ➡️ When performing the rocking, want to make sure you maintain a neutral spine. As you sit back on your heels, make sure pelvis does not move. Only rock back as far as possible while maintaining neutral spine. ➡️ Spend time with feet cross to focus on external rotation at the hip. Since a majority of time is spent in turn-out, extra time should be spent moving into internal rotation (feet apart) with rocking. Be on the 👀 out for more videos over the next couple weeks.
