As a kid, seeing the Nike Air Uptempos on the shelves of my small local Footlocker—whether it was the ‘96s, the Uptempo More, the Uptempo IIIs, or the Total Max—filled me with awe. The massive air units in these shoes captivated my imagination, and I dreamed of owning them, though I never had the chance. Now, whenever these shoes are re-released, especially in clean colorways, I find it hard to resist. Even though they might not be the most popular models in today’s sneaker culture, that has never mattered to me. For me, it’s all about memories and connections.
