Meet Samuel and Elijah Samuel and Elijah are brothers who were both adopted from China. Samuel was adopted in 2016 and Elijah in 2018. They both have severe hemophilia type A. This causes them to have blood that does not clot properly; causing joint bleeds, easy bruising, and the need for infusions to prevent more bleeding. Sometimes these bleeds even cause Samuel to have difficulty walking. Hemophilia is something the boys will have their whole lives, but they do not let it stop them. Samuel is in 3rd grade and loves the ocean and seahorses. Elijah is in 1st grade and loves dinosaurs. They both are bundles of energy!
