Goretti, from #Burundi, smiles for a photo while holding her 27-month-old baby Schola who finally reached the end of her malnutrition treatment. Her daughter started showing symptoms not long after her birth. Goretti had already witnessed all her 10 children suffer from malnutrition, so she rushed to enroll Schola in the worldfoodprogramme's Moderate Acute Malnutrition programme, where she received specialized supplements. Goretti and her husband couldn't afford a healthy diet, so she started having challenges with milk flow for breastfeeding almost immediately after childbirth. Today, she is happy about her baby's recovery, but she worries that the increase in food prices might mean they have to skip meals to cope, plunging her family back into acute food insecurity and inability to lead healthy lives.
