Forced into marriage at an early age, Fadimata is now advocating for a brighter future for her daughters and all girls in #Mauritania. “I always liked the idea of education, but I never had a chance to attend school. I want my daughters to avoid what I went through as a child. I’ll make sacrifices so that they can go to school. I learned that lesson myself.” Globally, 1 in 5 girls is married or in a union before reaching the age of 18.
