A mother and her baby stay safe from malaria under an insecticide-treated mosquito net in #Ghana. Monday is #WorldMalariaDay. Malaria is preventable and treatable, yet, it continues to kill a child every two minutes. Young kids are among the most vulnerable to the disease, but many lives could be saved with improved access to life-saving services to prevent, detect and treat malaria. Alongside efforts to tackle #COVID19, the World Health Organization (who) is urging countries to ensure that other killer disease, such as malaria, are safely treated. If you are in affected areas, make sure to protect yourself from mosquito bites by wearing light-coloured clothes, using insect repellent, getting rid of stagnant water and sleeping under a bed net. 📷: worldbank / Arne Hoel #EndMalaria #GlobalGoals
