These children are from the Sama Bajau tribe, a nomadic community that frequently roams between the #Philippines, #Malaysia, and #Indonesia by sea. Their itinerant lifestyle has left many without official identification. In 2019, a joint project was launched by refugees and unicef, which aims to register 1,500 members of the Sama Bajau community to allow them to obtain birth certificates. So far, 900 people have registered. Everyone has the right to a nationality.
