Principal Tom Coppola ’01 introduced himself this morning not only as a 2001 CHS grad but as a 1996 graduate of HAP. Our prestigious Higher Achievement Program kicked off today as rising eighth-graders from across Western New York began their four-week multifaceted experience of academics, athletics and more. Our Higher Achievement Program is the highlight of our Best. Summer. Ever program and is directed by Assistant Director of Admission Brendan Tenney ’12 (also a HAP alum as a member of the HAP Class of 2007) Participants take classes in reading, English and math and compete in team sports and other activities with their homerooms – all of which are named after Jesuit colleges. There is also a competition among three houses for the HAP House Cup, a competition modeled after the pace-setting CHS House System that Canisius High students are part of.
