A Father’s Day story: When I was about 5 years old, my dad took off my training wheels and taught me how to ride my bike. He held on to the back of my seat & ran as I rode. He held on till he thought I was ready to ride alone, then he let go. When I looked back and saw him standing at a distance, proudly looking on, I got scared & my bike started to wobble. Just before I hit the ground, my dad grabbed the seat, laughed and said, “You really think I was going to let you fall?” • • A while ago, my dad took off the training wheels of life and taught me how to ride alone. He held on until he thought I was ready to ride alone. Then he let go. This time, when I turned around and saw him standing at a distance, proudly looking on, I didn’t get scared.
