The 2017 Spartans finished the season with a 23-9 record (14-6 in conference). Michigan State went to the Elite Eight in 2017, defeating Missouri State, Creighton and Illinois in the NCAA tournament. It was the first time Michigan State had advanced to the regional final since 1996.
