An absolutely necessary upgrade…a director’s monitor. Director’s Monitor Cage V3 by woodencamera Typically, I send an image out to a larger client monitor on set but once the client gets comfortable in front of it… it becomes a hassle to point out changes to the crew while talking “through” the client. All the various app solutions (RED CONTROL, etc) are an option but usually NOT a reliable one in professional settings. That’s where this director’s monitor cage by woodencamera comes in. Having tried a number of cage options to build out a director’s monitor or 1st AC kit, they all seemed to be a clone of the same design but with significant dropoffs in the quality of machining and overall QA. Trust me…it’s worth it to go quality once on something that gets the job done. I need to swap this monitor out with a smallhd 7” option but this will do the job for now.
