As we celebrate our great nation’s Independence Day, canisiushsrow athletes and alums are preparing to attempt to earn a spot on the United States national team this weekend in New Jersey. Two current Crusaders who are newly crowned national champions and an alum who owns a world championship will be on the water for usrowing’s Senior, U23 and U19 National Team Trials Friday through Sunday at Mercer Lake’s 2,000-meter race course in West Windsor, N.J. Isaiah Aljuwani ’25 (at left in first photo) and Liam Feeney ’25, who last month took the gold medal in the Men’s Youth Pair at the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Fla., will compete in the U19 Men’s Pair. Nathaniel Sass ’19 (at right in fourth photo) and teammate Colin Hay will compete in the Sr. Men’s Lightweight Pair; the duo won the World Rowing Under 23 Championship in that event in 2022 in Varese, Italy.
