Here's to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.
When I first became an amputee I would worry about what people think so I would always cover up my prosthetic leg, because I didn't want people to know I was an Amputee. Instead of focusing on the good, like surviving cancer. I focused on what I lost and that I didn't look like everyone else. Running helped give me confidence to be myself and has shown me that I'm capable of so much more than I ever imagined. It has helped me accept my body the way it is.
