Umstead 100 didn't go totally to plan but it was a good training run for Moab 240. A lot of lessons learned😉 Obviously I was a little gutted I didn't get to the 100 mile finish but I did make it to 104km (65 miles). I wasn't prepared for the inclement weather. Torrential rain, lightning and thunder. It did get a little scary at one point with lightning hitting the ground close to me. The rain was so heavy and got into my socket and valve which caused some serious friction and my stump was totally raw and putting any weight on my leg became very painful, so I had to make the tough decision. I didn't even think of checking my skin after all the rain🤦‍♀️. An important lesson for Moab 240 Even though it didn't go as planned I'm still incredibly grateful that I made it that far and it was a great training run for Moab.
