Pilot Mountain to Hanging Rock 50k/31 Miles trail race done. This was definitely one of the more challenging races I've done. The mud, some really technical sections in the pouring rain and at mile 8 I slipped on some mud and twisted my stump. It was very painful to run. I arrived at mile 12 aid station so disappointed in the way the race was going, but I'm always prepared for anything, stump issues, blade issues etc.
I had two choices, a DNF because running on my blade was impossible or I could switch to my walking leg. It's a different socket/system so it puts pressure on a different spot on my stump. I'm stubborn and don't accept defeat easily, so I switched legs and hiked my way to the finish line and finished the 50k💪
Forward is forward and I'm proud of myself for not quitting.
