A #throwback to Tobacco road Half Marathon. This was my second Half Marathon after only running a few months and I remember being so incredibly disappointed at the way I looked in this photo. It took me a while before I actually had the courage to share it on IG. I thought, wow I don't look like a "real runner". I had only seen all my imperfections and that disappointment had taken away my accomplishments. I've come to realize that you are not defined as a runner by what you look like, what clothes you wear, what pace or distance you run but by your drive to be the best version of yourself. It's the passion you feel deep inside you that drives you. Putting in the hard work day in and day out to be the best runner you can be. If you run you are a runner. I've gone on to run marathons, ultramarathons, crazy Mountain races and all this with my amazing imperfect body and I'm proud to call myself a runner. Remember to focus on the good😉. #iamarunner
