"If you are brave enough to start, you are strong enough to finish." . The first photo was taken just before the start of the 50K/32 miles on Saturday feeling a little nervous. The second photo is of me just after the finish. I was covered in mud and the blisters on my stump were on fire and I could hardly walk, but I was so darn proud that I finished the alq50k . If I'm totally honest, I found this race so hard. The amount of mud, the ice cold water up to my knees that made my foot cramp up because it was so cold and the soft beach sand. The worst terrain to try and run on with a blade is soft sand. I had no traction as they are designed for hard surfaces. At around mile 16 I could feel I had developed a few blisters on my stump, probably due to water going into my socket, and I could have easily said I was done with the race, but I refused to give up and I kept moving forward slowly through the mud and water and I got myself to that finish line. .
