Because I am alive, I kicked cancers butt and I've found this incredible thing called "running", which had I not lost my leg I might not have started doing. The first photo was taken two months before my amputation. We were on vacation in South Africa visiting family and I had no idea that I had a tumor growing inside my leg. Two months later and I was having surgery to have my leg amputated so I could be cancer free. How totally crazy is that. It has been a journey filled with lows but also so many highs.
