All smiles as I cross that finish line at the vertical mile challenge trail race yesterday. 1 mile vertical climb and 1 mile down and repeat 8 times. How hard can 16 miles of going up and down a mountain be🤣. Definitely one of the hardest trail races I've done. I went into this race not having tested my new blade on technical trails yet so I had no idea how it would do. The race starts with some technical trail and then you climb up the mountain face. I had no idea if my blade would have any grip going up but had to give it a shot. Luckily it had amazing grip and I made it to the top and then a fast downhill. Then repeat. 16 miles total with a crazy elevation change (added the chart to my stories). I am the first amputee to take on this insane race. I was awarded with a special recognition awards.
