5 weeks to go to my first ultra and I've already signed up for my next one. The Umstead 100 (I'm only running the 50 Miles/81km though😉). After signing up I thought to myself, "what was I thinking", but then I looked back at my running to see how far I've come. When I started running in 2016 every running goal I had was scary, but I achieved every single one. My first 5k on a test socket. I was told not to race on a test socket but I did it anyway and guess what, the socket survived. My first half marathon for which I didn't train at all and my longest run up until that point was a 10k. A year after my first half I ran my first Marathon. I found the Marathon training brutal on my stump and really doubted whether I would cross that finish line and guess what? I did😊.
