I sat down exclusively with “Big Jeff,” the father of global hip hop superstar Young Thug, in hopes of getting more clarity on who Thug really is. The Fulton County DA currently has Thug on trial on a RICO charge alleging he is a street crime boss. They’re using rap lyrics and testimony from convicted co-defendants to prove their case. But so far, in the months and months of trial, there has been no smoking gun. Big Jeff insists his son is no gang leader, and that his only mistake was hanging with the wrong crowd. He says he feels partly to blame for teaching his son loyalty over everything. DA Fani Willis went after Young Thug and Donald Trump around the same time. Now, both cases are stalled — this one because of an allegation of misconduct on the part of the judge overseeing the case. It’s been 18-months and a lot of twists and turns.
