When I was 12, I called a local ice rink to ask about joining a hockey team. (Nevermind the fact that I could not skate.... minor details. I just wanted to PLAY.) I was told there were no teams for me. "Girls don't play hockey". Well, I'm happy to say that times have changed and someone wised up ........because girls DO play.
