It's been 74 years since the last documented sighting of the Pink-headed Duck in Myanmar. With bubblegum pink feathers on top of its head, this waterfowl almost seems like a mythical creature. But two dedicated individuals are determined to find it. Follow the link in bio to read the latest update. A recent expedition to Kachin State in Myanmar came back with news that a key survey site for the Pink-headed Duck had been destroyed by regional gold mining. While this heartbreaking finding might have deterred others, the passion and commitment of the team searching for the species, Richard Thorns and Way Lin, remains unruffled. The hope of finding the Pink-headed Duck is still very much alive...and some might even say contagious. #PinkheadedDuck #SearchForLostSpecies #SearchforLostBirds #ReversetheRed #ConservationOptimism #Waterfowl #Myanmar
