When you don't have ANY exposure, ZERO portfolio, and NO contacts, your FIRST goal should be FREE WORK. Free work gives your client a zero-risk option for the services they may need, and an opportunity for you to do some work, and have zero pressure if you mess it up or don't perform. If you want people to pay big money for what you do, you've got to be willing to build the portfolio and hustle as much free work as possible.
