Medal Monday… Incepted in 2018, Atlanta Run Club is a movement to change the narrative of Atlanta running. The Black Peach Medal is a commemoration of everything that’s us - unique, powerful, & different. In a sport that still heavily lacks diverse representation in leadership, we’re proud to testify as one of Atlanta’s largest minority-founded running groups. And although we are extremely grateful for our growth, we recognize there’s still work to be done. As we bare the literal city in our name, we hope to make way for larger initiatives that truly elevate both community & culture. For true diversity is co-existence in power. Some might label our vision as too ambitious. Disruptive. Unorthodox. We even acknowledge our presence might not make everyone feel “comfortable”. Nevertheless, we’ve never been followers in this space, but have always strived to be leaders. May this Black Peach Medal symbolize our own lane in history.
