Rising eighth-graders from across Western New York began their four-week multifaceted experience of academics, athletics and more.
The opening day included a sorting ceremony in which participants were welcomed to their HAP houses. Students will vie for the HAP House Cup in a competition modeled after the pace-setting CHS House System that Canisius High students are part of.
Participants take classes in reading, English and math and compete in team sports and other activities with their homerooms – all of which are named after Jesuit colleges.
HAP teachers are current and former teachers as well as alumni while they are assisted by a large group of current Crusaders. HAP is directed by Assistant Director of Admission Brendan Tenney ’12 (also a HAP alum as a member of the HAP Class of 2007).
