Today we celebrate the birthday of Huguette Caland (Beirut, Lebanon, 1931–2019), whose works are featured in themcmullen's upcoming "Taking Shape: Abstraction from the Arab World, 1950s–1980s."⠀ ⠀ In "Bribes de corps (Body Parts)" Caland covers the canvas with a curved, voluminous shape in pulsing orange red.
