The final day of competition was the 84kg, 84+kg and 120+kg classes.
In the 84kg class, Daria Rusanenko, still a junior, extended her own world record in squat with an impressive 278kg. 3 time world champion Rhaea Stinn jumped into prominence on bench, as she always does. She missed her opener though and ended up with “only” 202.5kg. It was easily enough for the gold medal and to get her into the lead.
Rusanenko made a valiant effort to close the gap but, in the end, Stinn could not be caught and she claimed her 4th back to back world title.

Great squatting in the 84+kg class, including an M2 world record for Heidi Hille Arnesen NOR. Sóley Margrét Jónsdóttir hit 277.5kg for the squat gold medal but hit problems on bench, only getting her 2nd. This gave the opportunity to GBR’s Kate Sweatman who was on top form.
