Day 2 of Equipped Worlds kicked off with the 66kg class and we were treated to a fantastic display of equipped lifting from the lightweight men. World Games gold medalist Yusuke Satake of Japan opened up an early lead with a massive 312.5kg squat. France’s Hassan El Belghiti also laid down a marker with 295kg for the squat silver but six-time world champions, Tsung-Ting Hsieh of Chinese Taipei, wasn’t far behind with 287.5kg. Satake stumbled however, missing his first bench and opening the door for Hsieh to come past. Mariusz Grotkowski of Poland is well known for his big bench and he moved up to second place with his 210kg opener. In fact, the bench world record in this class has been [assed between Satake, Hsieh and Grotkowski for the last 5 years so we knew we were in for an exciting bench battle.
