At 5:51 p.m., superintendent Jeanice Swift announced that tomorrow, Feb. 18, is a remote-virtual school day. Icy roads and inclement weather was the rationale behind closing all schools, along with canceling all extracurricular activities.
“If weather impact circumstances (e.g., power, connectivity outages, etc.) in the Ann Arbor Public Schools attendance area prevent the convening of an inclement weather, remote-virtual day, we will announce the transition to an inclement weather, school emergency closure day,” the email communication reads.
Students are expected to attend class remotely and attendance will be taken as usual.
