The moment you walk into The Great Commoner, the glass cases full of desserts and pastries draw your eye, with selections from macarons to tiramisu to croissants. The space itself is very big, with a back seating area where people often eat breakfast and lunch options, and a smaller front area with large windows looking out onto the street; the perfect vibe for studying. While the menu is a little pricey, their tiramisu was delightful. It was sweet, but not cloying, with a hint of coffee flavor, and a beautiful presentation with clearly defined layers of cream and cake. Another dessert that is exceptional is their croquant vanilla, which is a dense, three layer cake with vanilla, chocolate and hazelnut flavors.
