I first visited Hyperion in its Ypsilanti location a few years ago and to be honest I was not that impressed. The latte I had ordered was way too sweet, and the espresso was not strong enough for my liking. But, after visiting the shop downtown, my mind has completely changed. Since visiting it for the first time, I have gone back a few more times and tried more of their drinks. My favorites include the vanilla latte, mocha and café au lait. I got all of these drinks hot which is unusual for me, but at the times I went the weather was cold and rainy. When I received my latte and mocha, they had drawn designs in the milk which made them feel more personalized. I have not tried any of the pastries, but they have many options including sweet breads and other goods. The space is small and quaint but very aesthetically pleasing with many places to sit.
