On April 20, 2022, the Huron men’s varsity baseball team faced off against Pioneer in a heated doubleheader. Huron ended up getting shut out in the first game. “Game one we didn’t really play baseball,” sophomore pitcher and rightfielder Jin-Ho Yi said. “We made dumb mistakes and we had terrible at-bats.” Huron got off to a better start in game two for the first three innings. “We had a two-run lead, but the second we let in a run the whole team shut down,” Yi said. Although this team is still in the beginning phase of the season there are things that are unacceptable to do. “We were doing pretty well fielding the ball,” Yi said. “Pitching kind of killed us, there were so many errors and our pitchers were leaving a bunch of balls up at the chest. On offense, we were swinging on bad pitches and letting the good pitches through.” Reporting by Zain Charania Photos by Gina Ko
