It’s hard to admit these thoughts that ran through my head as a 12 year old girl. Obsessing over my image, beating myself up for eating too much ice cream, hating that I could never slim down my arms and my thighs, wishing I could’ve been taller, all these thoughts of wanting to be perfect. Feeling that I wasn’t good enough because of the way I looked. I remember being told by the neighborhood mom’s I needed to lose weight in order to grow up and be desired 🥲 which led to a really bad depression, that kept me locked in my room a lot, crying on my bedroom floor wishing to be perfect. Letting go of all the things I loved that included soccer. I’ve always been lucky to enough to have a support system, though not the largest, it was still a support system of one. I began to use positive affirmations writing them on my walls, journaling, and finding peace with a ball. Even about 2 years ago I was still dealing with a lot of aftermath.
