This #MemberMonday, we celebrate @claira_warner. Claira received a Billy Bear at the age of 13 during a 4-month stay at @devoschildrens. In her own words, “hugging my bear or seeing my sedation doctor dressing him in a surgical haircap and mask to look like me were gateways to the vital human emotions of humor and joy in my life, and an ever-present connection that assured me people outside of the hospital were still there and recognized my struggles.” Having experienced the Billy Bear mission as a patient, Claira decided she wanted to pay it forward as a member of our Youth Advisory Board.
