#SharksonRED with sonyaslee and nickhawkinsphotography During the filming of Jawsome: Canada's Great White Sharks, our team spent three months in Nova Scotia trying to capture underwater footage of great white sharks, a feat never before achieved with cinema cameras. We worked with an experienced skipper and citizen scientist with a Species At Risk permit, staying safe in a cage. Despite terrible conditions, poor visibility, and even a major hurricane, the team persevered and finally saw our first white sharks in Canada. “As an underwater cinematographer, filming great white sharks has always been high on the list, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd get to film them right in my own backyard.
