As the year is wrapping up and we are reflecting on our movements and work, we are expressing so much gratitude for being able to support and amplify book access in 3 crucial ways! . . 1) With donations from community like you, we fundraised and awarded $25,000 in Community Literacy Action Grants to support 30 literacy projects hosted by community organizations in our network that will give away books and celebrate the fun and importance of reading with their families. . . 2) We selected and purchased 7,300 books for 18 Oakland public elementary and middle schools to give to their students and bridge learning from school to home. . . 3) We partnered with Stephen & Ayesha Curry's eatlearnplay to curate books for community giveaways that reflect and embrace the rich diversity of Oakland students and are in the many languages spoken by Oakland families. . .
