Palm Reader, 2000 Trees Festival REVIEW: This is it. The end of an era and a career that has intensified and kept the British heavy music scene on its toes for 13 long and loud years. 2000trees is the perfect place for Palm Reader to be lowering the curtain, and that fact is cemented by just how thankful vocalist Josh Keown is throughout this final set of what it has meant to have sharpened their teeth here over the last decade and a bit. Though there's no time for tears, they have a career to span, and they show off the fruits of their labour in abundance. The caustic waves of 'Willow' and 'False Thirst' demonstrate just how huge the band's scope became, whilst a trip back to the very beginning with a rare outing of 'Seeing & Believing Are Two Different Things' is a steel-plated reminder of just how technically ravenous they could be. By the time 'A Bird and its Feathers' swings the hatchet one last time to a choral return that rips the roof clean off The Cave, there's not a dry eye...
