We are honoured to have taken part in NAIDOC events across the state over the past week. ⁣ ⁣ Our officers enjoyed participating in celebrations that acknowledged and recognised our Aboriginal and Torres Strait community and their culture.⁣ ⁣ Some highlights included: ⁣ ⁣ ⚫ The flag raising and smoking ceremony at Wathurong Co-operative in North Geelong on on Wadawurrung Country.⁣ ⁣ 🟡 The unveiling of artwork by local elder Aunty Cheryl Cooper in Benalla on Yorta Yorta and Taungurung Country.⁣ ⁣ 🔴 The Ballarat and District Aboriginal Co-operative community NAIDOC event on Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung Country. ⁣ ⁣ We hope our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander officers and community members had a safe and happy NAIDOC Week. ❤️ ⁣ ⁣ #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC #CommunityPolicing
