This is 504-907, Faith.
504-907 exists for a multitude of reasons. None bigger than climate. Although my series isn’t focusing on climate and climate imagery, it is informed by climate. As all of my New Orleanians know, we are the byproduct of man made decisions that have created a city at risk. A city at risk of becoming Atlantis. A city that was the largest in the south for 130 years. A city that we knew and didn’t heed dire warnings in the ‘50s about the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet Canal before building it in the ‘60s. A city where unfinished levee walls stood, filled with dredged material from the Mississippi itself, material not up to code. A city where less than two hours away there’s a football field of wetlands lost every 100 minutes. We, I, us, you, whomever stands at the precipice of uncertainty.
All my same bells ring when I hear about the Ambler project, or the Willow Project with projections of carbon emission that of 78 coal plants in just 50 years. In the same area...
