I’ve been wanting to do this Massive-Elbert linkup for at least a couple years. They’re not just the two highest peaks in the state; they’re the two that the ltraceseries Leadville 100 runs right along the base of, they dominate the Leadville skyline, they hold personal history, and they’re both in
#FeelItAllFilm.
But for some reason, I’d always talk myself out of doing the linkup: they’re not great specificity training for Leadville, if I’m going to commit that big of a day I should do it with less popular, less busy peaks, I’ve been to the top of them (and Elbert countless times), I only get so many peak weeks of training in a summer.
So this weekend, I said no more excuses, and just went and did the dang thing ‘cause it’s what I wanted to do. It was a good reminder that this is all supposed to just be about having fun and keeping the motivation pure.
