Team Deakins welcomes acclaimed stills photographer Harry Gruyaert in Sunday’s episode! Harry tells us about his experience shooting and directing for Flemish TV and how he changed course to become a stills photographer. Though Harry spent only a brief time working as a photography assistant, he tells us the important lessons he learned and about the significance of being yourself. We discuss what it means to be a photojournalist and Harry’s feelings about shooting in black and white opposed to color and his strong opinion about writing descriptions and titles to accompany his work in galleries and museums. Harry also tells us an incredible story about this photo he took in front of the Magritte painting. It was a wonderful episode and we can’t wait for you to hear it!
