Preconstruction began on People’s Park this morning in order to prepare the site for construction, with community members citing construction equipment around 6 a.m. The start in construction activity comes little more than a month after the state Supreme Court’s legal greenlight of campus construction on the park. According to a People’s Park project website post Monday, campus will conduct standard soil profiling of the park site this week, involving drilling rig extraction over the next few days.
