Taller than the Statue of Liberty.
In this image from July 1969, the Saturn V rocket for the Apollo 11 mission stands ready for launch at Pad 39A at NASAKennedy Space Center. At 363 feet (111 meters) tall, the rocket was 60 feet (18 meters) taller than the Statue of Liberty.
The Apollo 11 mission was the first of six successful Apollo missions to the lunar surface. Today, we are getting ready for crewed missions to the Moon under the
#Artemis campaign. Artemis astronauts will live and work on the South Pole of the Moon, training and testing technology that will be needed to send humans to Mars.
